Dark Souls will Soon be DnD 5E Compatible


Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game was announced in an official trailer in the in the year, and now publisher Steamforged Games has revealed the first proper details on what to expect. The game is an entire ruleset that is based on Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition that means you can play the game on its own or incorporate the rules and classes to your DnD campaign.



The book that will be the core of Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2022. "Inside the lavishly illustrated hardback core book" the developers say in a press release, "players will find bespoke character classes, a brand-new magic system, and a complete bestiary filled with Dark Souls creatures. Roleplayers can explore the crumbling landscapes of Lothric and its many locales as they meet familiar faces along the journey.



The mechanisms behind the level drain are not yet fully understood. I can only think that it could simulate losing your soul after death. Steamforged previously worked on the Dark Souls board game, a Resident Evil 2 board game, and just recently announced a 5E compatible RPG adaptation with Runescape.



Once the Elden Ring release date hits, it seems the new RPG will still provide something to anticipate.
